LuxuryRealEstate.com Rated the Most Prestigious Real Estate Web Site by Wealthy Americans

Posted by Joan McGuigan

SEATTLE – (Aug. 6, 2008) – LuxuryRealEstate.com, the most-viewed luxury real estate Web site in the world, was rated the most prestigious real estate Web site by high-net-worth U.S. consumers in the 2008 Luxury Brand Status Index survey released yesterday. The survey was conducted by the Luxury Institute, an independent research company in New York City.

The following are the nine top-rated Web sites by respondents in this survey. They are listed in alphabetical order:
– Century21.com
– ColdwellBankerPreviews.com
– ERA.com
– LuxuryRealEstate.com
– PrudentialProperties.com
– Realtor.com
– Remax.com
– SothebysRealty.com
– WeichertCapital.com

“This study illustrates our dedication to high-end homebuyers and sellers in the United States and around the world,” said John Brian Losh, CEO/publisher of LuxuryRealEstate.com and CEO/chairman of Ewing & Clark, Inc., Seattle’s oldest real-estate brokerage. “It’s an honor to receive such high praise from wealthy consumers. They demand only the finest properties and that’s exactly what we provide on our Web site.”

The Luxury Brand Status Index survey is the only measure of wealthy Americans’ views on leading brands. A national sample of 1,666 affluent American consumers was surveyed online. The average annual income was $348,000 and the average net worth was $3.7 million.

Since its creation in 1995 at the dawn of the Internet age, LuxuryRealEstate.com has been the most popular site in its field. In July 2008 the site received 68.9 million hits and 3.6 million page views from viewers in 155 countries. The site currently lists more than 63,000 properties in 98 countries with an average listing price of $2,506,152. These statistics are provided by Google Web Analytics.

LuxuryRealEstate.com is well-known for its networking opportunities, as well as its luxury properties. In July, LuxuryRealEstate.com’s Web team unveiled the new Luxury Lounge, an invitation-only social-networking community for professionals within the LuxuryRealEstate.com network to make connections with quality peers all over the world. The Luxury Real Estate Blog is also becoming a popular feature of the site, attracting daily readership.

Montreal Chamber Orchestra to Honour Luciano Pavarotti

The Montreal Chamber Orchestra will mark the first anniversary of Luciano Pavarotti's death with a concert entitled “Hommage à Pavarotti” that will take place on Thursday, July 17th at Parc Jean-Drapeau (Scène Loto-Québec) starting at 8 p.m.

The concert forms part of a month-long program called “Les Weekends du monde” which celebrates Montreal’s diverse cultural heritage through a series of fun and colourful activities, all of which take place at the historic and beautiful Parc Jean-Drapeau in the middle of the St. Lawrence River. The concert provides the perfect opportunity to hear much loved opera arias on a summer evening in a splendid park-like setting.

For “Hommage à Pavarotti”, the Montreal Chamber Orchestra will be conducted by artistic director Maestra Wanda Kaluzny and the concert will be hosted by renowned tenor Manrico Tedeschi. Mr Tedeschi was a winner of the Pavarotti Voice Competition and alternated  with the great tenor at La Scala. He will animate the evening, recounting personal anecdotes about Pavarotti. Internationally acclaimed soprano Makiko Awazu and tenor Francesco Verrecchia will join Manrico Tedeschi to perform 11 well-known arias made familiar to the world by Luciano Pavarotti. They will close with the ever popular Nessun Dorma, which was the last piece that Pavarotti sang in concert.

With this concert, the Montreal Chamber Orchestra continues its tradition of making music accessible to Montrealers of all cultures and from all parts of the city. The Orchestra, which will celebrate its 35th anniversary next season, will do a repeat performance of this concert on August 9th at 7 p.m. in Parc Georges-St-Pierre in Notre Dame de Grace, marking the opening of Montreal’s Italian Week. Both concerts are free and open to the public and each holds the promise of a delightful summer evening filled with spectacular music.

According to a 2007 survey conducted in the United States by Inman News, an organization dedicated to the use of technology in real estate, 21% of American agents have a blog. In Québec, 6.4% of agents have one. These are the results of a recent study by the Centre d'études et de recherche en immobilier du Québec (CERIQ) for the QFREB.
